Mayor Andrew Goczkowski announces 2025 re-election campaign

Today, Des Plaines Mayor Andrew Goczkowski announces his intentions to seek re-election for a second term.
“The last four years have seen Des Plaines continue to grow as a community that is a safe and vibrant place to live, work, and raise a family,” Mayor Goczkowski said. “We have taken big strides and there are many exciting plans for the City’s future.”
Mayor Goczkowski outlined key hallmarks of the past four years, including:
No local property tax hike
Record breaking investment in the City’s infrastructure including roads, sewers, and water mains
Fully funding public safety to reduce crime
Thriving economic growth and development
Dozens of new businesses, including many restaurants, opening their doors throughout the City
Consistent, meaningful communication with residents in the form of newsletters, videos, and interactive workshops
Establishing new and widely attended community events to build relationships between neighbors
“As someone born and raised here in Des Plaines, I know just how much our neighbors love this community. I am humbled to serve as your mayor and grateful to have the opportunity to steer our City towards a bright future. I urge the residents of Des Plaines to help us keep moving forward.”
Petitions for the spring 2025 municipal elections can be circulated starting Tuesday, August 20.
