Biography

Andrew Goczkowski was born and raised in Des Plaines, and he’s spent his entire professional career working on behalf of the residents who live here. From working as a member of City Staff to spending over a decade working on behalf of Des Plaines residents for their local Member of Congress, he has remained focused on making each of our lives better.

During and after law school, Andrew worked in the City Attorney’s office, assisting residents who sought assistance in dealing with City matters. He also served as the Staff Liaison to the City’s Consumer Protection Commission, helping the Commission as it adjudicated consumer complaints about local businesses.

Andrew has spent over a decade working for Congresswoman Jan Schakowsky (IL-09). He spent several years as a legislative aide on Capitol Hill, drafting legislation and serving as a policy expert on a wide range of issues, including foreign affairs, defense and military, veterans, agriculture, immigration, voting and election rights, gambling, and a host of others.

Since moving home to Des Plaines, Andrew has worked as the Congresswoman’s Grants Coordinator, helping local municipalities and non-profits utilize government resources and steer federal dollars towards northeast Illinois.
